What does your sleep position say about you?

How do you sleep? In this special video, you'll learn what your sleeping habits say about you! You're going to learn vocabulary to describe personalities, while exploring a fun and interesting subject. You'll hear about seven different sleeping positions, with positive and negative personality traits for each one. These include: gullible, sensitive, suspicious, disciplined, fashionable, and more. We'll have fun and you'll learn how to describe different types of people! Then test yourself by taking the quiz: you want to learn some sleep expressions, watch Emma's lesson at Do you sleep? I sleep all the time. It's my hobby. Is it my hobby? Yeah. Most people sleep 8, 7, 6, 5 to 12 hours a day or a night. And when we sleep, most people sleep in different positions. Some people, like me, we toss and turn. "Toss and turn" means one position, another position, you go through all the positions and you sleep well, I guess. Other people do not change positions when they sleep, so they're kind of like they're frozen.

For me, my sleep position changes, so I can't really choose something about my personality, but you maybe can choose or understand more about your personality by your sleeping position. So, when you go to bed at night, do you sleep like a little baby, or do you sleep spread out, or do sleep very stiffly? What we're going to go through is teach you some vocabulary-you like new vocabulary-about your personality. Exciting. Let's go to it.

So: "Sleep Positions And Your Personality". The first one is the "fetal" position. The fetal position means basically you sleep like a little baby. If you watch a baby sleep, they're curled up. Their legs and their arms are close to their head. If you sleep like this it means you have a tough exterior. Now, "a tough exterior" means that you don't really show your emotions well. On the outside, you're like: "Everything's great", but on the inside-oh, oh, oh-you are actually very shy and sensitive. Kind of like a baby. So, if you sleep like a baby, you're just a big baby. Aren't ya? Your position would be a fetal position, and it means you have a tough exterior, but your inside is soft and squishy.

The next one is a "log". Hmm. A "log" in English is a piece of a tree. It's a big piece of a tree. So, if you picture a tree, trees don't move. The... The bottom of the tree. So, a log position is you would be sleeping on your side, and you don't move ever, not even to go to the bathroom. If you're a log sleeper, you are social, so you like to hang out with people, you like to go to parties. Log party! Your room. And you're easy-going, but-oh, guess what?-you're gullible. Do you know what "gullible" means? Do you? Okay. "Gullible" means that you believe what people tell you all the time. So, for example, if I told you that I really, really like raisins: I love raisins, I eat raisins every day - you'd be like: "Oh, Ronnie likes raisins." No. I actually don't eat raisins every day. You're gullible because you believe what people tell you. You don't question people. This is a bad thing. Being gullible is not good. Okay? So, if someone tells you something, like me, check it out, make sure you know that this person's not telling you fibs.

The next position is called "yearner". Yearner, yearner. So, this is how I sleep a lot. I sleep with my one leg straight, and my other leg curled up, so it's kind of like a fetal position, except the one leg is extended and the arms can be any way you want them. And if you are a yearner, you have an open personality. I guess I have an open personality. So it means that you like to talk to people, you like to show your emotions. But we got a problem with this. You are suspicious of others. "Suspicious" means you do not trust people. Hey, that's me to a tee. That means that... Yeah, this would definitely describe my personality. I'm very suspicious of people. These two would actually be the opposite, so "gullible" and "suspicious of others" are opposites. Which one are you? Are you gullible? Do you believe me? Or are you doubting what I'm telling you right now? If you're doubting, you're suspicious.

The next one is a "soldier". So, if you think of a soldier lying in a bed without moving unless he or she is told to move, this would be the soldier position. You would lie on your back with your feet and your arms straight out. This person has quite short arms because they're a soldier, and one of their arms is missing. Okay? So, be careful if you're a soldier. Just like a soldier, you are disciplined. "Disciplined" means that you have a very, very strict routine, and you do things as you are told to do, and you don't do things strangely or you're not that crazy.

18. Sleep : Engineering Good Sleeping Habits

Sleeping Poorly? Your Nighttime Habits May Be Ruining Your Sleep!!

Join the conversation at morning and happy Monday!

I have to admit, the minute I turned 50 I began noticing mild, transient changes to my body. One day my thumb hurts for no particular reason, the next day it’s my calf. Another frustration is that despite how careful I am with my diet and exercise, weight management is a whole new game, forcing me to work harder while reducing my intake to stay the same.

The worst symptom though, has been disruptive sleep. Sometimes it’s great, other times it’s awful even though I’ve done nothing different from the day before. I never appreciated sleep more than I do now.

Getting restful, restorative sleep is one of THE most important elements to a healthy life. When we sleep we let go of the stressors and anxieties of a day in order to wake refreshed and renewed for the demands of a new day. During sleep we balance our hormone levels and inflammatory markers, allow our bodies natural bio-rythmns to support a healthy metabolism and stabilize our blood pressure. In short, sleep is an anti-aging necessity and without it, we can create disruptive patterns that can lead to illness that can affect our longevity and quality of life.

Melatonin is a supplement that many people turn to in order to get more sleep. But did you know that your body makes melatonin naturally and that some of the habits you might be engaging in may be keeping you from making enough to support a good night’s sleep?

In today’s Motivational Monday I am going to share with you the habits that could be depleting Melatonin in your body and how to boost it naturally, before turning to supplementation. You’ll learn about one habit that you are probably engaging in night after night that is keeping you from creating the melatonin you need for quality sleep. You’ll also learn what foods to include in your diet to help you boost melatonin production.

As always, I’d love to hear your feedback. Do you struggle with sleeplessness? Have you tried melatonin? And would you be willing to try the natural options and lifestyle changes necessary to help your body boost melatonin naturally? Let me know in the comments below.

Wishing you a great Monday and a happy week!

[BINAURAL ASMR] Healthy Habits to Help You Sleep (ear to ear whispering, tapping, tea bag, water)

Healthy Habits Of Successful People, Having The Good Habit of Waking Up Early

Healthy habits of successful people, The Good Habit of Waking Up Early

Want To Gain More Time & Get More Done, Well you can with these healthy habits of mind.

Are you struggling to get everything done that you need to?

Do you have the bad habit of sleeping late?

How are you going to get everything done if nothing changes?

What about creating the habit of waking up early?

Why?

Waking up early is one of the common habits of successful people.

You will not only get more time…

Studies show that people that wake up early tend to be more optimistic, more conscious, they are more efficient and they see problems before they arise.

Research has shown early risers to be more proactive, they tend to be better planners, and they tend to be more active.

Besides the benefits I’ve just mentioned, getting up early can make your day easier as well.

Do you commute to work? If you go early, usually there’ll be less traffic on the road, less people on the trains and buses..

And not to mention all that extra quiet time in the morning at work before everyone else gets in. People that get into work before others claim that time is twice as productive due to less distractions.

If you’re not already a early riser… this may time some time to adjust, but you will adjust.

If you’re worried about your sleep quality, you shouldn’t be, experts say that if you sleep earlier and you wake up earlier, your body will become in sync with the natural circadian rhythms – meaning you’ll get a more restful and more healing sleep.

If you would like some help or some tips on how you can create the habit of waking up early.. so you can instil the habits of successful people.

What are sleeping habits like for an INTJ? I scanned a few forums online, and it seems that most INTJs are all over the map when it comes to sleep patterns. Some INTJs stay up all night and sleep more in the day. Some need very little sleep. Others want 8-9 hours of sleep. Some say sleep is dependent on their careers.

One INTJ meme I saw regarding sleep read, “Sleep, who needs that?” Isaac Newton, a likely INTJ, needed only 2-4 hours of sleep each night. What about you?

What Are Habits That Cause Insomnia? | Sleep Problems

Watch more How to Sleep Better videos: I'm Janet Kennedy. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist and sleep specialist in New York City. You can find out more about me and my work on my website, nycsleepdoctor.com. If you're having trouble sleeping, it's a good idea to look at your habits and the things that you're doing all day long that might be interfering with your sleep. There's all kinds of things that we do unknowingly that can compromise the quality of our sleep. There are three main culprits when it comes to habits. The first is caffeine. Caffeine has been shown to be beneficial in some ways, but it is important to limit it because it can really interfere with your sleep. Even if you're able to fall asleep at night after having a caffeinated drink, it might be compromising the quality of your sleep because caffeine is a stimulant and it changes the structure of your sleep so that you're not getting into the deep sleep stages that make you feel refreshed in the morning. It also takes longer than you think to metabolize caffeine, so it's in your system for several hours, and as you get older, that can take even longer. A good rule of thumb is limiting it after 4 p.m., and if you're still having trouble, try cutting back even more. The next one is smoking, and there are a million good reasons to quit smoking this is another one. Nicotine is a stimulant, and it will change the sleep structure just like caffeine. Nicotine also causes withdrawal when you don't have it for a long time. Nighttime is the longest stretch of the day when you're not having a smoke, so you're body is going to wake you up when you're in withdrawal, and having a smoke in the middle of the night is not a good solution, because again, you're stimulating your body with the nicotine. Alcohol is another one, and although alcohol makes your sleepy, it does also change the structure of your sleep. It causes you to wake up sooner than you otherwise would, and it keeps you from getting the deep sleep that you would normally want. Alcohol is also a diuretic, so you're going to have to go to the bathroom more frequently than you otherwise would, even with another kind of liquid. So, trying to keep those three habits under control can make a big difference in the quality of your sleep.

Can't Fall Asleep? Waking Up During the Night? Sleep Problems and Hormones

Were going to break down two hormones that can be effecting your sleep.

Cortisol and Insulin

Cortisol plays a role in raising your blood sugar while Insulin does the opposite it's job is to decrease your blood sugar levels

Cortisol is released during times of physical and mental stress while Insulin is released after eating especially meals high in carbs

Cortisol natural cycle should be highest in the morning and lowest at night. Since it is a stimulating hormone if it is high at night it will effect your ability to fall asleep.

Some ways to make sure its not to high at night include not eating to late or eating meals smaller in carbohydrates at night.

Now if your someone who falls asleep easily but wakes up constantly throughout the night, you may need to add a small amount of carbs to your dinner or last meal. This may mean your blood sugar is to low causing cortisol and its sister hormone adrenaline to be released which wake you.

How to Sleep Less and Better Naturally (Prevent Insomnia and Sleep Problems)

How to sleep less and better naturally? To prevent insomnia or sleep problems and have more energy, we require quite harsh or ascetic conditions include: mouth taping, less blankets, Earthing, hard beds, and sleeping sitting (the ideal choice) or on the chest and left side (second best choices).

Quality of sleep, as it is easy to observe, is linked with our automatic breathing during sleep. If one breathes faster and deeper, his sleep is not ideal or normal. Healthy people have very light and slow breathing during sleep. You can hardly see and hear anything.

Duration of sleep is also linked with body oxygenation and the way we breathe. If we learn how to increase our body oxygenation index (by changing our automatic breathing pattern), we can reduce sleep naturally down to ... 2 hours and enjoy superior health and have much more energy.

That was normal for people living many thousands years ago. We sleep, in average, about 7.5 hours (with very poor quality of sleep), but even a century ago about 5-6 hours were enough for most people.

Here are detailed resources about sleep and breathing web page has a Table that links the breathing frequency (or body oxygen test results) with duration and quality of sleep.

If you want to know nearly all main factors of sleep and suggestions of the Buteyko method related to better sleep and prevention of insomnia, visit the web page How to Sleep (and have more energy). .

If coughing during sleep is the problem, learn the technique "How to Stop Night Cough": .

You can also learn a simple breathing exercise "How to Fall Asleep Fast". It was developed by Dr. Konstantin Buteyko and applied on thousands of people with sleeping problems. The exercise reduces the duration of time that is required to fall asleep many fold: .

Another web page provides the most detailed information about good sleep hygiene. It is based on many years of systematic research of Soviet and Russian Buteyko doctors. They accumulated superior clinical material about the role and place of sleep in health restoration, how to prevent insomnia, and breathing normalization.

If you suffer from sleeping problems or insomnia, this is a great resource. Use various sleep hygiene ideas and techniques that will help you to gradually improve quality of sleep and prevent insomnia and sleep problems and have more energy in the morning. .

What Is Sleep Apnea? | Sleep Problems

Watch more How to Sleep Better videos: I'm Janet Kennedy. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist and sleep specialist in New York City. You can find out more about me and my work on my website, nycsleepdoctor.com.

How to Sleep: What is Sleep Apnea?

The most common kind of sleep apnea is called obstructive sleep apnea and it essentially means you stop breathing for brief periods during the night because your airway gets blocked by your tongue, tonsils or other tissues in the back of your throat.

The two most common symptoms of sleep apnea are loud snoring and falling asleep unintentionally during the day. Other symptoms include dry mouth in the morning and headaches.

Sleep apnea makes you feel tired during the day because your sleep is constantly interrupted during the night. Every time you stop breathing your body wakes you up so you can start breathing again. Even if you don't notice that you're waking up, you're not getting into the deep restorative sleep that makes you feel good in the morning.

There are some serious risks associated with sleep apnea and they include risks for accidents on the job, car accidents, and also heart attack and stroke.

There are some things that make sleep apnea worse that you have control over. Alcohol and smoking certainly make it worse. Being overweight is also a risk factor for sleep apnea so getting your diet under control and trying to lose weight with exercise can help.

Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition though and you're probably going to need medical attention. Your doctor can refer you for a sleep study in a sleep lab where they'll monitor you overnight and determine how serious the condition is and what appropriate treatments are available for you. The most common treatment for sleep apnea though is a breathing mask that you wear at night that keeps your airway open. Other treatments include surgery and some dental appliances that hold your mouth in the right position to keep your airway open during the night. Your doctor will tell you what's available for you.

You don't realize how much sleep you're missing and getting treatment will help you get back on track. "
